SKAI for logistics service providers

You run customs for dozens of principals at once. SKAI holds the rules per principal and applies them automatically.

Each principal is its own process

Approval, document flow, goods-code mapping: different per client. In SKAI that sits in the principal's configuration, not in the head of whoever has done that client longest. Cover for a colleague follows those arrangements from the first dossier.

What SKAI does for you

Dossiers come in, SKAI applies that principal's rules, reads the documents and files to DMS, NCTS, DECO or TRACES-NT. A REST API connects to your WMS, TMS or ERP, so bonded intake and exit line up with the declaration.

Keep them apart

A principal sees only their own shipments. Reporting and invoicing run per client. Documents stay with the dossier, with the MRN, for the seven-year customs retention period.

Frequently asked questions

Can SKAI file declarations for several principals at once?
Yes. Routing, document flows, goods code mappings and approval steps are recorded per principal and applied automatically to every dossier belonging to that client. Your declarants work in one system, but always to the rules of the client the dossier belongs to.
Who is liable when the principal supplies incorrect data?
The declarant, meaning the party that files the declaration. The fact that the client supplied the invoice or the commodity code does not release you from your responsibility towards customs. What you can do is keep every field traceable to its source document, so that years later you can show where a value came from.
How quickly can I onboard a new principal?
A new principal is a configuration job, not an implementation: record the document flow, the field mapping, the commodity codes and the approval steps, then let a number of real dossiers run through. The SKAI implementation itself takes about a month, including two weeks running alongside one or two principals.
Can one principal see another client's dossiers?
No. Access is set per principal, and every dossier and every document belongs to exactly one principal. A client looking in sees only its own shipments, and a declarant sees the clients assigned to them.
How do you tie a customs warehouse to the customs administration?
Through a direct link between the WMS and the declarations, so that every receipt and every issue traces back to a declaration. SKAI connects over a REST API to your existing WMS, TMS or ERP. That is necessary because the stock administration has to match at every moment, not only at the month end.
How long do you have to keep customs documents?
In the Netherlands the customs administration has to be kept for seven years, including the underlying documents. In practice that means the invoice, the packing list, the certificates and the declaration with its MRN together in the same dossier, findable without anyone walking into an archive.
